Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

Boot Country is a must for that hitting the country music scene in style. This establishment has more than 20,000 pairs of boots in stock. This is where the tour starts on the Honky Tonk Highway. We will only be outside the shop. The world-famous Wildhorse Saloon opened in 1994 in a converted warehouse. It captured the attention of people near and far when on June 3rd, 1994, Reba McEntire herded a stampede of live cattle through the streets of Music City, down 2nd Avenue, and right past the front doors of the Wildhorse Saloon. On the walk here you'll learn the history of the area and how it evolved. We will walk up 2nd Avenue and hear the historic story of the area including the recent bombing. This alley was once the home of local print shops, then over the last century, it's been the 'men's quarters', bars, and music joints where everyone from Elvis, Bob Dylan, Rascal Flatt, and Tim McGraw all played or got their starts here. Skull’s Rainbow Room, opened by David “Skull” Schulman in 1948, was one of the most notorious spots in the Alley, featuring acts such as Elvis Presley, Etta James, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Paul McCartney, and Bob Dylan on its legendary checkerboard stage. The famous Ryman Auditorium, the home of the Grand Old Opry, the birthplace of bluegrass and so much more. You'll discover it's history. Stop by the Legends Corner Mural, hear the story of why Taylor Swift is no longer on the mural, and discover who got their start here. The Old Merchants is one of the best restaurants in Nashville today and it has a long storied history. You'll walk by the Music Hall of Fame and get a chance to check out the Walk of Stars. You'll hear the story of how the symphony got its start and see its amazing fountain. Cash. Enough said. You'll hear his historic story. And our tour ends very close to where it began near the Honky Tonk Highway.
