Jumbo Mine Hiking Trip
What your day looks like
Looking to get high into the alpine for stunning views of the Kennicott Valley? Then look no further! The Jumbo Mine Hike will take you 4,000 ft up into the Bonanza Ridgeline to access one of the original Kennecott mining claims. Abandoned in 1938, Alaska’s wilderness has slowly been reclaiming the old wooden buildings and not much remains of the once great Jumbo Mine Bunkhouse, built to house the miners. The hike will be a rewarding one, with incredible views of the Kennicott Valley far below and close-up views of Castle Mountain above you.
