Every winter, thousands of humpback whales travel to the warm, shallow waters of Hawai‘i to mate, give birth, and raise their young. Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary protects these whales and their habitat. We have the unique opportunity to experience these majestic animals in the waters around Maui. Avoid the crowds and fumes on the large whale watching boats. A moving, serene, personal experience bringing you closer to these Humpback whales in a way few have experienced before. With your hands free to take pictures, easily cruise in your pedal kayak where the Humpbacks are. Enjoy whale season between December & April

Detailed Itinerary
The journey, in full
We'll launch from Olowalu beach on our pedal kayaks. As we travel over the reef, look for Honu (green sea turtles), bright corals, numerous fish, dolphins and Humpback whales in winter months. As you pedal across the Olowalu reef, you'll encounter Honu, octopus, moray eels and numerous tropical fish. As you pass over the end of the reef, you may encounter spinner dolphins and during the winter months Humpback whales. This is a seasonal experience only available only November through April.
