The journey, in full
The tour starts at the statue of Ponce De Leon, you'll learn his history, the adventurer, the slave owner, and how he became the famous explorer. You'll then be guided step by step through St Augustine. the tour stops at the gates and you'll learn why they were built and why they were built. It's one of the best city gates, and most historical, in the country. The tour walks through the historic Plaza de la Constitucion where you'll hear about the plaza, its history, and its statues. From here you'll walk to St. George Street. The tour stops here and you'll hear the history of the church, how it was built, and how the city was attacked and burnt down. You will walk up St. George Street explore multiple locations and hear about their stories and the history of the street. See Treasury Street the narrowest street in the USA. You'll hear how the city was attacked by pirates and why the street is so narrow. the tour stops at the oldest wooden schoolhouse and you'll hear about the chains around it, the people who lived here, and how it survives. The tour stops at the Saint Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine where you can enter and learn about the people who came to St. Augustine and made the city what it is. The tour ends at the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, outside, and you'll learn its story, why it was built, and why it still stands. From the city gates, you'll see the old Huguenot Cemetery and learn about the people there why they were buried there, and why they left France.
