What your day looks like
This Alcatraz Island and San Francisco City Day Tour is perfect for those who want to truly experience the city, not just see it! Ride in comfort to San Francisco’s top attractions before cruising across the Bay to explore the iconic Alcatraz Island. Our fully narrated city tour offers an immersive sightseeing adventure through San Francisco’s most famous landmarks. Morning: City Sightseeing Tour See over more than 20 major attractions in San Francisco. We’ll drive you through famous neighborhoods like Chinatown, North Beach, Haight-Ashbury, the Mission, Union Square, and more! This tour makes stops at these locations to explore and photograph: Palace of Fine Arts At the lovely (and highly-instagrammable) Palace of Fine Arts, you will have the chance to stop and photograph the historic building, grounds, and stunningly beautiful lagoon. Golden Gate Bridge Continue to the most iconic stop at the Golden Gate Bridge. Spend 10-15 minutes at a perfect vista point taking photos and creating memories. Land’s End The next stop on your San Francisco City highlights tour will be the historic Land’s End where you can stretch your legs while overlooking Sutro Baths and the Pacific Ocean coastline. Twin Peaks Fog-permitting, the next stop on this tour gives you an amazing panoramic view from 1,000 feet above the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Downtown, and San Francisco Bay. Afternoon: Sail to Alcatraz Island for the Famous Prison Tour Enjoy lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf (not included), then take a 10-minute walk to Pier 33 to board your ferry for the Alcatraz Island Prison Tour. The 15-minute ferry ride offers stunning views of the city skyline, Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, San Francisco Bay, and Angel Island—have your camera ready! Upon arrival at Alcatraz Island, pick up the Cellhouse Audio Tour included with your San Francisco and Alcatraz tour package. Hear former prisoners and guards share their experiences as you explore the iconic prison. The audio tour is available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, and Dutch. After completing the audio tour, take some time to walk the island grounds for stunning views, additional exhibits, and a unique gift shop. Ferries back to San Francisco run approximately every 30 minutes, and you’re free to take any ferry at your convenience. After exploring Alcatraz Island, take the ferry back to Pier 33. If you’re feeling hungry, enjoy one of the many great restaurants at Fisherman’s Wharf before making your way back to your hotel.
