Your Grand Teton National Park tour begins in Jackson Hole, at the Visitor Center. As you drive toward Teton Village, you’ll discover the history of Jackson Hole and find out how the Tetons formed. Taggart Lake Trail is one of the first hikes you’ll see, a splendid stroll that loops around a pristine glacial lake. Then you’ll have a chance to see the park’s largest glacier at the aptly named Teton Glacier turnout. On the shores of Jenny Lake, next, you’ll see one of the clearest bodies of water in the whole country. Then, take in some views of the 6,000 foot summit of Mount Moran. Jackson Lake Dam, waiting just ahead, makes for some incredible photography of the mountains! Cattleman’s Bridge offers a glimpse into the land’s pre-park history, and Oxbow Bend, not far beyond it, serves up some of the best views in the entire park. Next, cross into the most remote wilderness in the Lower 48, before stopping at the overlook where perhaps the most famous photograph of the Tetons was taken. Your Grand Teton tour concludes at the National Elk Refuge, where you might just spot the biggest herd of elk on earth. At Yellowstone, you can begin your tour at any of the five entrances. Once inside the park, you’ll follow the Grand Loop past every major (and minor) attraction. That massive figure eight includes countless amazing spots, including these: At West Thumb, one of the largest geyser basins, you can marvel at the geysers, gaze into the Abyss Pool, and hear wild tales like how fishermen would cook their catch in hot springs! Visit the world-famous Old Faithful, where an amazing show is absolutely guaranteed. Then stop by Grand Prismatic, the largest and most colorful hot spring in the country! Fountain Paint Pot offers a different sort of beauty with its multi-colored muck. Then there’s the fascinating Norris Geyser Basin, hotter than any other basin in Yellowstone. Experience a different kind of Golden Gate Bridge which is no less breathtaking than the one in San Francisco on your way to reach the Mammoth Hot Springs, a riveting formation of layered springs. Then take a detour to a completely petrified tree! Lamar Valley also awaits, where Yellowstone’s most famous wildlife often congregate. Not far from there, you’ll find Yellowstone’s Grand Canyon—which is every bit as impressive as the one in Arizona. And of course, no trip would be complete without relaxing by the shores of the enormous Lake Yellowstone. These sister parks make for one heck of a journey.
