What your day looks like
Home to historic mansions, hauntingly beautiful cemeteries, and giant oak trees, this district is the romance of New Orleans. Close to the St. Charles streetcar, you'll meet your host Michelle at Lafayette Cemetery and discuss the history with her. Then it's on to the food at the next 3 stops. Enjoy a favorite neighborhood eatery for a taste of the Italian and Creole roots of the city. Next stop, Dat Dog for sausages like alligator, crawfish, and duck (with vegetarian and vegan options available!). You'll finish with a Creole dessert: learn the history of chicory over cafe au lait and delicious filled beignets.
