Dolphin & Whale Watching Signature Safari
What your day looks like
Experience the most unique and memorable whale watching excursion in the world! Bring the kids, family, and friends aboard our uncrowded, eco-friendly catamaran sailboat, Manute’a (pronounced mah-noo-tay-ah) to connect with nature on the most unique whale watching boat with two eye-to-eye underwater viewing pods. You'll experience uncrowded views of majestic blue whales, gray whales, fin whales, humpback whales, and more. And you’ll be wowed by several species of amazing wild dolphins, including mega-pods that can number in the thousands! Live narration from entertaining and knowledgeable marine naturalists will bring you on a deeper dive into the lives of Dana Point's gentle giants; what they do, where they go, and the threats they face. And at the end of your experience, we hope that you'll disembark with a greater understanding of Dana Point's awe-inspiring marine life. As a special 'thank you' you'll receive a complimentary sweet treat of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious triple fudge brownies. Our safaris are eco-friendly and we are a Responsible Whale Watching operator certified by the World Cetacean Alliance. Dana Point, California, is the Dolphin and Whale Watching Capital of the World® and the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas certified by the World Cetacean Alliance. Book now and BE one of the pod!
The experience, in brief
- Feel what it's like to swim with dolphins, without getting wet, in our two EyetoEye Underwater Viewing Pods, exclusively available on Manute'a.
- Get up close and personal with Dana Point's yearround whales, dolphins, and other marine life.
- Never crowded!
The journey, in full
You'll depart from beautiful Dana Point Harbor, a small marina with quick access to the open ocean. Dana Point is conveniently located mid-way between Los Angeles and San Diego, just a few minutes from Laguna Beach, and only 33 miles from Disneyland. It's not uncommon to see playful dolphins or jumping whales right outside the harbor! The direction we go will depend upon the wildlife. Usually, we only need to go 3 to 5 miles offshore.
