What your day looks like

This full-day tour from Seward includes a local guide, an aerial tram ride up Mt. Alyeska, a tour of the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, lunch at a local eatery, drop-off in Anchorage, and scenic photo-stops along the way! Following your pick-up at the Seward Cruise Ship Terminal or from your Seward hotel, sit back with your luggage secured in our comfortable and clean sprinter vans as your Alaskan driver guides you northbound on the Seward Highway! Visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a 200-acre natural habitat that provides wildlife education and rehabilitation for some of Alaska’s favorite animals! This is Alaska’s only guaranteed wildlife viewing! Get close enough to observe and photograph some of our favorite land animals such as moose, reindeer, bison, wolves, and more! While we cannot guarantee bears due to the size of their habitat, however, it is common to see both brown and black bears at the Conservation Center! Make sure to take photos of wildlife with the amazing backdrop of the Chugach Mountains and Turnagain Arm! Visit the quaint town of Girdwood and a favorite local eatery for lunch (provided). After lunch, ascend the side of Mt. Alyeska on an aerial tram. From the top (weather permitting) take in views of several glaciers and the upper reaches of a temperate rainforest. Continue along the Turnagain Arm, an All-American Road and National Scenic Byway. Look out for alpine scenery, hanging glaciers, and potential wildlife! Upon arrival in Anchorage, you'll be transferred directly to the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport where you will be helped with off-loading your luggage, or you may be dropped off at your Anchorage hotel!

Cruise Ship Tour and Transfer: Seward to Anchorage We booked a transfer with Salmonberry from Seward to Anchorage after our cruise. We had 12 hours from the time we disembarked until our flight out of Anchorage, so we wanted to fill that time with more than just a straight drive from Seward to Anchorage. Thoroughly enjoyed our tour!Katie was our tour guide; she said she was new to the company, but did an amazing job. Very personable, very knowledgeable since she grew up in Anchorage, and you could tell that she absolutely enjoyed sharing her home land with those of us on tour. The tour bus was comfortable, and a perfect small group to enjoy the trip. Included in the tour were stops at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and Mt. Alyeska Aerial Tramway. Multiple stops for photo opportunities. Lunch was at a brewery in Girdwood that had several food trucks outside. Absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend Salmonberry for any tour in the future!

Our guide was fantastic! The gondola turned out to be closed on our day (no fault of the guide of course) but she was able to pivot and offer alternatives. It was really nice to have a Native Alaskan rather than a seasonal worker as a Guide to give a true local perspective throughout the day. The van was very comfortable, the guide provided water and snacks.

The tour was very nice, we liked the stops and lunch was fabulous! Our tour guide was ok, we would have liked to hear more facts along the way about the areas. Overall, we would do this tour again.
