The Experience

What your day looks like

In stark contrast to Kauai’s lushness is Waimea Canyon State Park. Thousands of years of earthquakes and erosion have turned the canyon walls into a multi-hued canvas, where shadow and light produce a never-ending show. You will journey right up to the rim of one of Hawaii’s most awe-inspiring sites – the Waimea Canyon, Kauai’s own “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”. This tour also offers one of the best views of the Western Coast, including Spouting Horn, Kauai’s highly photographed natural blow-hole. Then take in a picturesque view at Hanapepe Valley Lookout – a lush tropical valley that was once a Hawaiian taro farming community with some of the taro patches still being farmed today. And on your return to port, enjoy the drive-bys of the Haupu Mountain range, Waimea Town, Russian Fort Elizabeth, and Koloa Town.

I didn't realize that the 14 in my group was going to be with a larger group on a big bus. However, our tour guide Leone was fabulous.

Wonderful scenic trip! Leone did a fantastic job! He gave out ginger candy and it helped with motion sickness I have to deal with riding on a bus. My only suggestion would be to recommend travelers to bring bottle water on the trip.
