What your day looks like
The city's longest-running northern lights photo tour. Highlighted by Iceland Air's Stopover magazine as one of Anchorage's "Hidden Hot Spots" in its Spring 2019 issue (page 64), this northern lights photo tour is designed to maximize fun and opportunity with the aurora borealis. If conditions are good for aurora viewing, we'll pick you up at your accommodations and take you on a nocturnal adventure to witness the magical lights rippling over snowy peaks and dancing across dark waters. This northern lights photo tour increases your chance of aurora viewing success through a close analysis of the northern lights forecast, weather forecast, and the likelihood of when conditions are good for viewing. It's the perfect complement to winter day tours and a great option for business travelers to Alaska from August to late April. Led by a professional photographer guide, this tour accommodates serious photographers to sightseers. Photographic coaching and aurora portraits are provided for those who desire.

Detailed Itinerary
The journey, in full
As this is a weather-dependent tour, the route we take will depend on the weather forecast for that night. We have four different routes we will take, with each allowing several locations to stop throughout the night. Our first stop allows us the opportunity to see the aurora low on the horizon, and we will stay there until the aurora is visible and guests have had the opportunity to enjoy it. After that, we will go to at least 1-2 additional locations depending on the level of aurora activity.
