The Experience
What your day looks like
Hotel Chaco to Acoma Pueblo at 8:00 AM Meet in the Hotel Chaco Lobby, where there will be Introductions and a brief orientation about your excursion. 8:15 AM Depart for Chaco Canyon in a comfortable vehicle transporting you back into ancient times. Your transportation is equipped with New Mexico reading materials, snacks, water and all the comforts necessary for the voyage ahead. 9:30 AM Arrive at the Acoma Pueblo Visitor Center to meet with your Interpretative guide and shuttle and tour the Sky City Pueblo. 11:15 AM Explore the Acoma Visitor Center and Haak’u Museum. 12:00 PM Enjoy lunch prepared by Hotel Chaco. Drive the scenic route through Acomita with an interpretive journey. 2:30 PM Arrive back at Hotel Chaco, traffic dependent.

Be sure to wear sunscreen, sunglasses and a sun hat, since Acoma Pueblo is a very open and exposed landscape at high elevation Be sure to drink lots of water on your journey Bring a daypack, preferably a backpack, for easy transport of your personal belongings while hiking through the park Wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes to enjoy exploring the dirt paths throughout the village Dress in layered breathable clothing, because New Mexico weather can change without much notice, and have a rain layer and light long sleeve layer to protect your skin during sunny days and cool nights
