On this safari you will have a chance to visit one of the most popular cultural tourist sites in Uganda- the martyrs shrine in Namugongo which is 5 kilometers away from Kampala city, the best time to visit this place is 3rd June the martyrs day when millions of believers from every corner of the world have gathered to celebrate Christian martyrs who were killed because of their strong belief in Christianity a century ago, however, the martyrs’ shrine is open daily to tourists, this tour also takes to Buganda royal palace, here observe and learn about the traditional helm of the Buganda Kingdom, experience the lifestyle of Ganda people and their loyalty to the king, you will be taken through about how the kingdom has influenced both current the historical affairs of the economy, social and political aspects of Uganda. Your day, step by step
Day 1
Kampala
Welcome to Uganda! Wake up in the morning at your hotel in Kampala and have a cup of tea before being briefed about the day’s trip to Namugongo Pilgrimages site by our trained guides. After the briefing, you will be driven by our experienced drivers to Namugongo. This is a 30 minutes drive from Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. As you are being driven, look through the window and have a glance at the beauty of the city full of cultural expressions which are hard to find. Reach Namugongo at around 10:00 am.

Cultural Immersion. Spend the whole day at Namugongo Pilgrimage site where the Uganda martyrs were burnt alive by the then king of Buganda Kabaka Mwanga because of their faith in Christianity. While at the place you will view the various cultural objects including the martyrs remains which are highly preserved for people to remember them. Tour the place with your guide.

Sightseeing at Kabaka of Buganda. At Buganda’s palace, you will have a chance of experiencing a true feeling of the cultural aspirations that this largest kingdom of Uganda has. You will be different stories about the kingdom’s history which will be backed by visual aid. View some of the historical objects like ancient tools which the early men of Buganda used during their time. You will have a lunch break before proceeding with your tour.
