Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

Turks love to eat and since a traditional Turkish breakfast is the best way to start the day, our food journey begins with a visit to local breakfast cafes to sample different breakfast options from delicious Börek ( a family of baked filled pastries made of a thin flaky dough) to Menemen (made with scrambled eggs, red and green peppers, tomatoes, and onions). Next, you'll hop on a ferry and get to Kadıköy on the Asian side. Here, you'll have the chance to visit some of the best restaurants and food markets to taste many more traditional dishes. Highlights will include Iskender Kebab (doner kebab with yogurt and tomato sauce), içli köfte (covered meatball), pide (flatbread with ground meat and vegetable filling), and a famous Turkish dessert, Baklava (layered pastry dessert filled with pistachio or nuts.) Throughout the tour, your guide will share invaluable insights into Turkish cuisine and local food culture. Ferry Crossing To Kadiköy: Crossing Bosphorus has always been fun while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the old city and the islands, sometimes feeding the seagulls or watching fellow passengers rushing for their job. This short journey gives you an insider look at the everyday life of local people. Kadıköy has a fascinating past and is one of the most distinctive neighborhoods in Istanbul today. Our Tour is fun, informative and of course, delicious, this is so much more than a food tour – it’s a taste of both continents all in one day! Our food journey ends at Kadıköy Ferry Terminal. Our guide will make sure you take the ferry (fare included) back to Eminönü (European side ) or give you a recommendation of what to see next nearby.

This was a great tour! Erol was a wonderful guide who took us to several small restaurants where locals eat and there aren’t many tourists. Food was all very good. All the stops are on the Asian side of Istanbul. You meet the guide on the European side but all restaurants are on the Asian side. We really enjoyed our time and our guide was great! Definitely recommend.

Our guide was so lovely! It felt like we just walking around the city with an old friend. We tasted so many different things and learned a lot about Turkish culture! They were also able to accommodate me being a vegan :)

Our guide Elif was incredibly personable and knowledgeable. Everything was great from place to place learning about the cuisine and trying so many different delicacies. We enjoyed spice market, sampling Turkish delight and the ferry ride to the Asia side and seeing the difference. The honey with yogurt and tasting the differences in honey will be a memory I hold for years. Thank you!!!!!!!!
