What to Bring
Comfortable Footwear: Wear comfortable and sturdy walking shoes. The Old City has cobbled streets and uneven terrain, so comfortable footwear is essential for a day of exploration. Weather-Appropriate Clothing: Check the weather forecast for the day of your tour and dress accordingly. Istanbul experiences varying weather conditions, so layering is often a good idea. Be mindful of any dress codes at religious sites. The ladies have to wear a scarf and cover their shoulders and legs while entering the Mosque structures. Sun Protection: During the summer time(June, July, August, and also September) bring sun protection items such as sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses, especially if you plan to spend a significant amount of time outdoors. Water and Snacks: Carry a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Bringing some snacks is also a good idea to keep your energy levels up during the tour. Backpack or Daypack: Use a small backpack or daypack to carry your essentials. This can include your water bottle, snacks, a map, a camera, and any purchases you make during the tour. Camera or Smartphone: Bring a camera or smartphone to capture the beautiful architecture, landscapes, and moments during your tour. Ensure your devices are fully charged or carry a portable charger. Cash and Credit Card: Have some local currency (Turkish Lira) on hand for small purchases, snacks, or tips. Also, carry a credit card for larger expenses or unexpected situations.
