The journey, in full

Meet Your Guide & Depart for Ephesus Meet your guide at the designated departure point and begin your journey to one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in the world. Along the way, your guide will introduce you to the rich history of the region and explain why Ephesus became one of the most influential cities of antiquity. Ancient City of Ephesus Step into the Ancient City of Ephesus, the best-preserved classical city in the Eastern Mediterranean and one of Türkiye's greatest archaeological treasures. As you walk along the original marble streets, you'll discover how Ephesus grew into the second-largest city of the Roman Empire after Rome itself, with a population exceeding 250,000 inhabitants. Visit iconic landmarks including the Library of Celsus, Great Theatre, Temple of Hadrian, Odeon, Trajan Fountain, and ancient public baths while learning about daily life, commerce, politics, and religion in the Roman world. Your guide will also explain Ephesus' important role in early Christianity and its connections to figures such as St. Paul, St. John, and the Virgin Mary, bringing the ancient city vividly to life. House of the Virgin Mary Continue to the peaceful House of the Virgin Mary, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Christianity. According to Christian tradition, the Virgin Mary spent her final years here under the care of St. John. Visit the sanctuary built upon the foundations believed to be her final residence and learn about the site's religious significance and its recognition by several Popes throughout modern history. Temple of Artemis Visit the site of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and one of the most celebrated sanctuaries of antiquity. Although only a few remains stand today, your guide will help you imagine the temple's immense scale and importance. Once supported by 127 towering columns, it attracted pilgrims and traders from across the ancient world and played a significant role in Ephesus' prosperity. Optional Local Handicraft Experience During the tour, your guide may offer the opportunity to visit local workshops showcasing traditional handmade products and regional craftsmanship. Participation is entirely optional, and guests are welcome to focus exclusively on the historical sites. Return to Departure Point At the conclusion of the tour, relax on the journey back to your original departure point, taking with you unforgettable memories of Ephesus and a deeper appreciation for the civilizations that shaped this remarkable corner of the ancient world.

Outstanding tour with a very knowledgeable guide. A bit challenging for my wife who has some unsteady gait on uneven surfaces, but manageable. Our guide was excellent and made accommodations for her and another woman with similar gait issues. I highly recommend this excursion!

This was a Do Not Miss tour. Our guide was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Lunch was full of flavor. I even liked the eggplant dish, which I never like. Keep in mind there is a lot of walking, over uneven or slippery areas and steps, so caution to those that have walking issues. Carpet demonstration at the end was interesting. They are beautiful but expensive. $900 for the smallest. Once you asked the price, beware, they get kind of aggressive, but not rude.

Fantastic tour. Our guide, Efe, was so knowledgeable and personable. He did a great job of giving us some flexibility in the tour when members of our group needed a break after the intense heat in Ephesus that day.
