Explore the Medina of Nabeul, also known as “Neapolis” in antiquity, then visit Kelibia and its historic fortress. After pickup from your hotel in Tunis or Hammamet, begin your journey with a visit to the Archaeological Museum of Nabeul. Known as Neapolis in ancient times, the city was founded in the 5th century BC. Although modest in size, the museum houses an impressive collection of mosaics and rare artifacts from archaeological sites across the Cape Bon region. It was fully renovated in 2003. Next, travel to Kelibia to explore its fortress, one of the most important monuments in Cape Bon. Perched atop a 150-meter-high rocky hill, it is the largest and best-preserved Muslim fortress in Tunisia. From its ramparts, enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and the nearby port of Kelibia, the country’s fourth-largest fishing port. Continue to the ruins of Kerkouane, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These remarkable remains include artificial caves once dug by prisoners and slaves under the Carthaginians and Romans. The extracted stone blocks were transported by sea to Carthage, across the Gulf of Tunis. End your tour with a relaxing hike along Korbous, where you can visit its natural hot baths before returning to your hotel.
