A visit to this most spectacular beach offers you the opportunity of swimming in the cool waters of the Caribbean Sea as well as one of the finest scenic coastal drives in the whole region. Probably the most relaxing way to spend a morning or afternoon in Trinidad, this tour allows for about two and a half hours on the beautiful beach at Maracas Bay. The drive leads you through the residential areas of St Clair and Maraval close to the capital, Port of Spain, before continuing up to the scenic North Coast Road. Along the way you can admire the stunning view of the Paramin Hills to the west with its plantations of herbs and spices, and to the east thick rainforest. Upon reaching the Caribbean Sea, you can take in the most spectacular panoramic view of the ocean. A short stop at the Maracas Lookout gives you the opportunity for some pictures of the surrounding bays. The most popular beach in Trinidad, Maracas Bay is surrounded by lush green rainforest-covered mountains, with a sandy beach lined with coconut trees. This unspoiled Caribbean scenery is free of high-rise hotels and practically untouched by tourism. Taste the famous Bake & Shark, a hot crispy shark sandwich with homemade bread. There are many different sauces from which you can choose, just beware of the very hot pepper! (additional cost). Basic dressing rooms with changing and toilet facilities are available.
