The Experience

What your day looks like

Lengthways of Tajikistan permeate three branches of the Great Silk Way: 1) the Northern – Sugd’s route, which stretches between Samarqand (Uzbekistan) and Kashgar (China); 2) the Eastern-Western – Karategin’s route, running between Sariosiyo (Uzbekistan) and Kashgar (China); and 3) the Southern – Pamir’s route, connecting Termez (Uzbekistan) with Tashkurgan (China). These ancient paths were shaped by Persian, Greek, Chinese, and Arab civilizations, all of which made significant contributions to global socio-economic relations—trade and culture—between the 5th and 12th centuries. In this multi-day tour, we will explore key historical and cultural sites including Shaartuz (Mausoleum of Zayn al-Abidin, Beshai Palangon, Mausoleum of Khoja Mashhad, Chiluchorchashma, and Bokhtar city); Bokhtar (Kurgon Hill, Bibikhonum Museum, and the Buddhist Monastery Ajina-Tepe); Vose (Hulbuk Fortress); Kulob (Mir Said Alii Hamadoni and the 2700th anniversary of Kulyab); Darvaz/Qal’ai Khumb (Ancient city of Karon); Khorog (Khorog city and Botanical Garden); and Ishkashim (Garmchashma and Wakhan Valley).
