Host Bio: Ivy grew up in the south of Taiwan where she studied international trade, but then found a love of cooking and teaching cooking and decided it was time for a career change. She has been teaching cooking from her home cooking studio since 1997. She is now known and loved by locals and travelers alike for her home cooking school and writes regularly on food and cooking for local magazines. Ask her about her passion for local organic farms! Cooking Class Description: Your experience begins with a warm cup of tea in Ivy's welcoming home cooking studio, located in a renovated apartment just 30 minutes from central Taipei. The open-floor plan features a modern kitchen where you'll learn to cook traditional Taiwanese dishes like braised pork rice, oyster omelet, or three cups chicken. After the hands-on class, savor your creations alongside seasonal fruit and a Taiwanese tea tasting, immersing yourself in the flavors of the region in Ivy's cozy, well-equipped space. Market Tour Description: Visit the local market with Ivy where she will introduce you to traditional Taiwanese produce and show you the seasonal offerings available. After exploring the market for about 45 minutes, return to her apartment together to begin your cooking class.
