Stockholm City Private Walking Tour
What your day looks like
In Sweden’s capital, politicians and royalty alike wander the streets like everyday people. Old buildings with plenty of character to go around stand nearby new, modern architecture. Construction cranes dot the skyline while trams and bicyclists whiz by. This is Stockholm’s city district, Norrmalm - the bustling heart of the city centre, where there are plenty of surprises to share and fascinating stories to unveil (it didn’t look this way at the time of the city’s founding in 1252; you can be sure of that!). Uncover the hotspots of the modern area of the city centre as you zig-zag your way through busy city streets, learning about the Swedish capital, its people and life in Sweden. We will see highlights such as Hötorget, the Haymarket and home of the Stockholm Concert Hall, Stureplan, the location of posh shopping and nightlife and Norrmalmstorg, the origin of a term in psychology (or the title of a One Direction song). From Swedish fashion brands, famous Swedish actors and actresses and what tobacco products Swedes find more popular than cigarettes, we’ll cover the A-Z’s of the city and the Swedes. We end our Stockholm City Private Walking Tour just across the water from the Old Town - in Kungsträdgården. The first city park in Stockholm, Kungsträdgården (The King’s Garden), has something everyone can enjoy year-round. By the end, we’ll have dug deep, looking beyond the surface of the beautiful buildings of Stockholm and the stylish Swedes that live here.
