The Vasa Museum is located on the island of Djurgården, one of the greenest of all of Stockholm's islands. A visit to the Vasa Museum is absolutely a must when in Stockholm. The famous Vasa warship from the 17th century sank on its maiden voyage in the port of Stockholm and was salvaged 333 years later to be a living legend. Your Stockholm experience will be savored with a guided visit to the Thiel Gallery housed in an elegant Art Nouveau Villa from the beginning of the 20th century. You will be amazed at the works of Swedish and other Scandinavian painters, such as Carl Larsson, Bruno Liljefors, Anders Zorn, Edvard Munch and many more. The sculptures of artists such as Vigeland and Rodin in the museum’s park will make the visit complete. After a guided tour, we will have time to enjoy a cup of coffee in the lovely café. On our way to the Old Town, we will drive along Stockholm’s most beautiful boulevard, Strandvägen and then pass the Royal Dramatic Theatre, Grand Hotel, the Royal Opera House and the Parliament. After arriving at Stockholm’s Old Town, the stroll through the narrow streets of Gamla stan will lead us to the Royal Palace, Stockholm Cathedral, and Stockholm’s smallest public statue. We will continue walking to the Main Market Square, where you will be impressed with its charming burgher houses and winding narrow alleys.
