Explore the dark Swedish folklore on this special-themed city walk. Explore the medieval and Viking Age undead in a dark Stockholm city walk. Explore the pestilence outbreak in 1709-1712 and the dark Swedish folklore creatures around us out to hurt us. We'll explore the use of the bodies of the dead and the life-giving blood abruptly come to an end at the execution blocks. We'll explore Hell, the ally in Stockholm where the executioner lived, and among the allies and streets of Old Town, you'll hear about the folklore beliefs of water creatures like Näcken, bäckahästen (similar to the kelpie), the sea-rå out to drown and the shiprå to protect the ships of the harbor. We'll also explore the protections from the dveil, of the doors and hear about the Myrling. A Swedish undead folklore vase of an undead child creeping after strangers under the ground you're walking on wanting to hurt. You will walk with me through the beautiful Swedish nature in Vallentuna, situated 40 minutes by public transportation outside of Stockholm city, exploring the myths and folklore beliefs of past Swedes. On this walk, you will hear about the undead and many other folklore creatures as well as the pestilence outbreak during 1709-1712 and the gallows and magic around that place of death.
