St. Maarten 4-Hour Sightseeing Tour

I appreciated the small group as there was only 4 of us . Our guide , Angel was young ( 20 y/o ) and inexperienced and while nice, his youth showed. We were dropped off at a cheese shop and given time to walk around downtown but nothing was open. When we were dropped off at sites , we were with not much explantation and we had to initiate the timing of when to return. The rum distillery was a tourist trap and they rushed you through with samples and no explanation, can definitely skip. At Maho Beach, it would hve been nice to have been told if we went to the roof we would have a better view . I didn't see that option until we were leaving . As an experienced travel advisor, I would not recommend this tour for my clients. I wish they had given us someone that was a little more experienced for a better tour.

This tour was great. Our family had 10 people, so we filled up the entire van and it became almost like a private tour. However, even if that wasn't the case, it still would have been a great tour. There are several stops, even some smaller ones that aren't listed in the description. Our tour guide, Cutty, was very informative. He let us stay a little longer at some of the stops, including Maho Beach so we could see some bigger airplanes. It did make the tour go longer, so we gave extra in the tip. He also took us to an extra beach (we spent less time at Orient Beach because of it, but that was our choice). I wouldn't ever go in expecting extra time or extra stops (since what you pay for is in the description), but it goes to show the level of service. Everyone in the van has to agree to a change in the itinerary if one is suggested. There were also PLENTY of complementary drinks in the van (soda, water, beer, and a mixed drink), which definitely was not the case with the tour that we booked through the cruise line on another day. The only thing I would say is that if you want to spend a ton of time at Maho Beach, this isn't the tour for you (it's just the nature of the tour), but if you want a nice tour of the entire island, and to see different beaches and areas, then it's a great option.

Excellent tour! Better than the others that we booked through our cruise line. We got much more value for our money.
