What your day looks like
Looking for a sensational day at the beach? The Maho + Orient Beach Bum tour offers four and a half hours of sun, sea, and absolute fun on two of the most popular beaches on the island. Get ready for four and a half hours of sun, sea, and absolute fun! Your friendly guide will pick you up at the cruise port or hotel and take you to Orient Beach. This area is properly equipped with complete tourist amenities. It is the longest beach on the island and has a wide range of beach bars and restaurants within easy reach. Check out the many water sports facilities, such as jet skis, sailboats, paragliding, and even some kids' activities are available (own expense), or simply take a dip in the pristine, clear blue water. After two hours of sheer fun at beautiful Orient Beach, we head to Maho Beach and arrive around midday just in time to see the Boeing 747 and Airbus A380 just a few meters over the beach as they approach for landing at the nearby Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). For two hours as a beach bum at the Maho Beach, you automatically become a guest of the Sunset Beach Bar and Grill, where you can enjoy a cool cocktail or a tasty lunch (at your own expense) while you listen to the live feed as the control tower communicates with the arriving aircraft. Just sit back, relax, feel the cool Caribbean Sea breeze rush off the swelling waves of the sea, or stroll along the pure white sand. Be lost in the sound of the waves crashing into the rocks that rise off the coast. Your guide will transfer you back to your hotel or the cruise port when you've achieved official status as a St. Maarten beach bum!

What to Bring
Ziploc bags: To protect phones and cameras from the intense, swirling sand kicked up by airplane jet blasts at Maho. Small USD cash bills: For quick payments to beach vendors, chair rentals, and taxi drivers without waiting for card machines. Water shoes: The entry into the water at Maho Beach can sometimes be rocky or drop off steeply, depending on recent wave action. A fully charged power bank: Taking videos of incoming planes and beach landscapes will drain phone batteries rapidly.
Restrictions
When visiting the beaches in St. Maarten/St. Martin, please be aware that lifeguards are generally not present, nor official flag warning system to indicate daily water conditions on the island's beaches. Visitors should always exercise caution and understand that they swim at their own risk. Orient Beach is clothing-optional on its far southern end. Stick to the center or northern sections if traveling with children. Infants (0-2) are free of charge.
Meeting & Pickup
Cruise-ship guests' tour departs from the EDC Parking (Sand bank) located at the North exit of the cruise port. Please check in 15 minutes before the excursion departure time. Hotel/Stayover guests will be picked up from their hotel or place of stay 15 to 30 minutes before tour time. Please note that pickup is done from selected hotels, and you will need to confirm upon booking.
