What travelers are saying
This hike was LONG and STRENUOUS! It is a 3 hour hike/climb up for a 5 minute view and then 2 hours down. If you want a challenge, it's certainly a different experience. BRING water, lunch and snacks. The guide will give you raisin bread and fruit juice - tasty but not enough for a workout. Also bring Toilet paper - there are no toilets in the "wilderness". Hiking shoes are also helpful. It's a break from the sun as the hike is all covered.
Long 6 + mile challenging hike. We were in decent shape, although we had some trouble climbing up some rocks. He gave you a walking stick which definitely helped. We were sore for three days. My husband is 71 and I am 65. For a younger person that’s in good shape, you’ll be good. It was wet and muddy so bring shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty and wet. The benefit was not worth the hike in my opinion. Our guide was funny and very knowledgeable. If you want a good challenging hike, this one is for you.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the volcano and the island. He was also very friendly and funny, and helpful as we made our way up and down.
This was a great hike, beautiful landscape and photos. It was a very strenuous hike, so if you are not cardio ready and strong, you may struggle a bit to complete the hike
What an Epic adventure with Andre. He clearly has an amazing attachment and understanding of the mountain. He was full of fun facts and history. This hike was perfect for us and a really nice escape from all the pool and beach time. It was fairly strenuous, we are all runners and backpackers so we did hustle and it still took around 4 hrs. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a true rainforest adventure .
Great excursion, although VERY fast paced and more strenuous than expected.
Good day. Torrential rain all day and absolutely no view at the top.
Overall rating is 5 Beautiful hike up through the canopy to a great view. Adrianne was a helpful and fun guide with delicious cold lemonade at the top. The climb is a good workout An experience we will always remember.
