Small-Group Basseterre Plantation Half Day Tour
What your day looks like
Join us on a scenic drive along the picturesque northwest coastline of the island, where you will have the opportunity to explore two meticulously restored sugar cane plantation houses. St. Kitts was once home to approximately 68 sugar plantations, with Wingfield Estate being the first piece of land granted by a British king on the island. Romney Manor, originally built by Samuel Jefferson, is now one of the most popular attractions on the island. It boasts a stunning botanical garden, a sought-after venue for weddings among both visitors and locals, and is also home to a unique batik factory where exquisite clothing is crafted through waxing and dyeing techniques. Our next stop is Fairview's Great House, which was once the residence of a French military commander and later housed notable families and personalities, including the great-grandfather of British novelist Virginia Woolf. In the 1990s, a local couple acquired the property, transforming it into Fairviews Inn, one of the island's pioneering full-service hotels. By 2008, it had evolved into a museum and botanical garden. Our journey then takes us to Sir Timothy Hill, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Experience the rich history and natural beauty of St. Kitts on this captivating tour.
