What your day looks like

Your day of touring Mahiyanganaya and Vedda Village will start with a private pick up straight from your hotel by one of our amazing local guides who will also be your driver for the day! Relax and enjoy the ride as we take you to Dambana Veddha Village, the primary home of the last surviving aboriginal people of Sri Lanka and explore their unique way of life. As you enter the village, you will meet the Chief at his residence and seek his permission to tour the village. He will take you towards the museum where you will receive a demonstration of their traditional hunting methods, cultural activities and folk dance. This first part of your Mahiyanganaya and Vedda Village tour is a one-of-a-kind experience that you won't find anywhere else! Next you'll visit the Mahiyanganaya Raja Maha Vihararya, a temple that's steeped in history and spirituality. And that's not all! We'll then make our way to Sorabora Lake, where you can enjoy a fun boat ride and take in the stunning views of the surrounding greenery. Your day of exploring Mahiyanganaya will end with a delicious high tea session by the lake, complete with a variety of delicious treats.
