Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

A family-led winery, Haute Cabrière has roots that extend deep into Franschhoek’s wine valley, heritage, and community. With a passion for creating moments for people to share together through quality wines, Burgundian varietals are explored by the von Arnim family through pioneering blends Located on the outskirts of the historic town of Paarl and around a 50-minute drive from the center of Cape Town, Nederburg Wines has a long and proud winemaking legacy. Nederburg’s story started in 1791 when German immigrant Philippus Wolvaart acquired 49 hectares of land in the Paarl Valley. He named his property Nederburgh, in honor of the VOC commissioner Sebastiaan Cornelis Nederburgh. The beautiful thatched and gabled Cape Dutch manor house that Wolvaart completed in 1800 is a national monument today. At the heart of Nederburg’s winemaking journey are the people who are part of our rich and colorful history, from generations of award-winning and innovative winemakers to Ilse Graue, who lived in the manor house until the late 1950s and was a gracious host to Nederburg’s many visitors. Spier is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa with a recorded history dating back to 1692. While rooted in this heritage, Spier has a vibrant and conscious energy, home to one of the largest collections of contemporary South African art. Spier’s wines are among the most awarded in South Africa. Visitors to the Stellenbosch-based farm can enjoy these paired with wholesome delicious food – made with ingredients sourced either from the farm or trusted, nearby farmers. The Spier Hotel and meeting facilities offer inspiring wineland getaways in the tranquility of nature.

Great guide! He was interesting to talk with. He knew so much about the area. Loved the wineries we went to . All were really solid choices. I like that the wineries did not push you to buy wines but allowed you to take your time and enjoy. Honestly it was just a great tour ! With amazing vistas along the way. Highly recommend
