Half Day Boulders Beach Penguin Colony Tour from Cape Town

Bo kaap: Shortly after the commencement of the tour. We will have the pleasure of making a quick stop at the famous brightly colored Bo-kaap. Formerly known as the Malay quarter. Some of the oldest inhabitants of Bo-kaap reached the shores of Cape town in the 17th century as slaves from Malaysia and various Indonesian Islands and in this community is where their descendants thrive. Besides the colorful houses, Bo-kaap offers a lot more than what meets the eye. You will be able to walk around as well as take pictures while your guide unpacks the history of this national heritage site.  Camps bay: Just outside the famed city bowl at the Atlantic seaboard of Cape town are Camps Bay suburb and Camps Bay beach. Known as the Beverly hills of Cape Town, not many places in the world offers such views as the ones witnessed here. You will have a chance to stop at Maiden's cove, a braai area along the coast that offers some of the best views of the Twelve Apostles mountain range.  Hout bay: Affectionately known as "The Republic of Hout Bay." This beautiful town is surrounded by mountains and the cold Atlantic on all sides so Hout Bay neighbors no other town. All the 3 roads that lead you here go over mountain passes. A republic it is. Chapman's peak drive: Carved out of the Chapman's peak mountains between 1915 and 1925 to link Hout bay with the south peninsular towns, it is an engineering masterclass. Locally simply known as Chappies. This 9km long mountainside road meanders along gigantic and steep mountains that dramatically drop into the Atlantic like an avalanche. There are about 152 curves and like a fingerprint, you get different views from each and every single one of them. Various viewpoint gives you an opportunity to stop, soak in the beauty and take photos.  Noordhoek farm village: Situated at the southern end of the world-famous Chapman's peak drive and in the heart of the lush retirement village of Noordhoek. The farm village is home to The village roast. A to-go coffee shop that boasts the best-roasted coffee in the area. Other than coffee, there are some raw juices of different flavors as well as small shops selling locally made crafts and other BRIC-a-braces. Boulders beach: Home to thousands of African penguins. Boulders beach is one of Africa's only three mainland penguin colonies. The penguins are also known as the jackass penguins because of their donkey Breigh-like sound. A boardwalk was built to prevent people from getting too close to the penguins ever since they were listed as endangered a few years ago. However, visitors can still be able to take pictures from the point-blank range.  Kalk bay: Voted one of the world's 12 coolest places to live in! Kalk bay is well known for her Eurocentric outlook. Some of the best restaurants in Cape town are here. Art galleries, cafes, Cuban cigar bars, and small shops dominate the main street. Residents of this quaint town also get to enjoy seeing southern right whales from the comfort of their living rooms. Now that's cool!!  Muizenberg beach, Muizenberg: Muizenberg Beach is one of Cape Town beach goers and surfer's favorite corner. The famous colorful changing huts on the beach also attract passersby who stops here briefly to have their own pictures of one of Cape Town's iconic sites. From Muizenberg, our tour will head for Cape Town City center for drop-off before 1 pm.
