This amazing private tour will take you to the Škocjan Caves system, located in the picturesque Karst Region, followed by a panoramic tour along the Slovenian coast. This combined tour is a unique opportunity to explore the Škocjan Caves—an extraordinary natural phenomenon created by the River Reka—and to visit medieval Piran as well. At the caves, you will see the largest underground canyon in the world. The Škocjan Caves are listed as a UNESCO natural and cultural world heritage site. The tour will take you across an underground bridge suspended more than 40 meters above the river. The cave temperature is 12°C, and the walking tour lasts around two hours. The tour continues with a drive back to Koper and then farther south along Slovenia’s beautiful Adriatic coastline—a narrow strip of land only 27 miles long, nestled between Italy and Croatia. Upon reaching Piran, a spectacularly scenic village perched on the tip of a thin peninsula, you will enjoy in a 2 hours free time wandering on your own. Much of the architecture is 15th-century Venetian Gothic, giving the village a wonderfully medieval feel. A statue of Giuseppe Tartini stands in the marbled main square, honoring the 18th-century Piran-born violinist and composer.
