What your day looks like
The Škocjan Caves are a unique natural phenomenon, created by the river Reka. It’s only a 30-minute drive from Koper. There you will see the biggest underground canyon in the world. The Škocjan Caves are on UNESCO’s list of natural and cultural world heritage sites. The tour will take you over the underground bridge where you will cross the river flowing 40 m below. The cave temperature is 9°C/50oF and the tour takes about 2 hours. Take a jacket and walking shoes. After exiting and before returning to Koper you may take an education trail around the caves or you can enjoy some free time.
