Your day, step by step
Day 1
Edinburgh
Summer Itinerary: Leaving the capital at 7:45 in the morning, we travel past the stunning Stirling Castle sitting dramatically atop a steep rock. We travel through the wild landscapes of Rannoch Moor before stopping at one of Scotland’s most iconic landmarks, Glen Coe. Winter Itinerary Leaving Edinburgh at 7:45am, we travel through Perthshire, a land of forests, rivers and mountains.

Dunkeld
City/Town Tour at Dunkeld Cathedral. Summer Itinerary Fort William there will be some time to get a bite to eat here. Those with Jacobite Steam Train tickets will embark , while those without train tickets will go with the guide on the coach to Mallaig to pick up the train passengers. From Mallaig, everyone will take the ferry to the Isle of Skye. Once in Portree, there is time to explore this island capital. Winter Itinerary: We visit the quaint village of Dunkeld with its historic cathedral sitting on the banks of the River Tay.

Sightseeing at Isle of Skye. Summer Itinerary: We spend the day exploring the dramatic Isle of Skye with its amazing scenery, myths and legends. Hear tales of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s escape from the mainland against the backdrop of the jagged Cuillin Mountains. Highlights include the mysterious rock formation of the Old Man of Storr and Kilt Rock with its cascading waterfall. In the afternoon you have time to explore Dunvegan Castle*, stronghold and ancestral home of the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod for the past 800 years. Winter Itinerary: We spend the day exploring the dramatic Isle of Skye with its amazing scenery, myths and legends.

Day 3
Edinburgh
City/Town Tour. Summer Itinerary: We bid farewell to the Isle of Skye as we depart the island via the Skye Bridge. On our way east, castle enthusiasts will fall in love with Eilean Donan Castle, arguably one of Scotland’s most romantic photo spots.

Sightseeing at Glenfinnan Viaduct. Summer Itinerary: We will be able to take in some incredible views from the coach such as the Glenfinnan Viaduct where a monument to Bonnie Prince Charlie’s campaign now stands.

Summer Itnerary: We head south through the dramatic scenery of Glencoe, wild Rannoch Moor then the heart of Rob Roy country before arriving back in Edinburgh at approximately 8.30pm. Winter Itinerary We head south via the Skye Bridge, through stunning glens and past the poignant Commando Memorial and Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain. Marvel at the atmospheric Glen Coe, a true showstopper of a landscape, and the wilds of the vast Rannoch Moor before journeying through ‘Rob Roy country’ to hear about the rogue who turned to a hero. Soon, we cross back into the Lowlands and arrive in Edinburgh in the early evening at approximately 5.30pm.

What to Bring
Comfortable walking shoes, a raincoat in case there is light rain, and clothing that can be layered
Restrictions
Adults / Students must be over 18 at the time of travel. Students must hold a valid ISIC/ISE/ITIC card. Those who are 17 years old pay the adult price but need to be accompanied by someone aged 18 or over. Highland hotels and guesthouses do not have lifts/elevators. Guests should be able to walk up steps in order to access rooms. Collapsible wheelchairs can be accommodated, provided the passenger is accompanied by someone who can assist them to board and disembark.
