The tuk tuks have a maximum capacity of 4 passengers. Visit the Belém Tower, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and Portugal's most emblematic monument. It's a 16th-century fort that served as a disembarkation point for Portuguese explorers and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon. Marvel at the majestic Jerónimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which took a century to build with money from pepper and cinnamon taxes. Enjoy the magnificent Manueline architecture and the tomb of Vasco da Gama. Visit the original factory of Pasteis de Belém, the famous Portuguese custard cake, whose recipe was developed by the monks who lived in the Jerónimos Monastery. Try this delicious and unique cake. Sightseeing at Belem Tower. The Belém Tower is an ancient military construction located in the city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal. It is a work of Francisco de Arruda and Diogo de Boitaca that had great importance in the Age of Discoveries in Europe, as it served as a fortress and as a port from where Portuguese explorers departed to establish what would be the first European trade in history with China and India. When it ceased to serve as a defense against invaders in the estuary of the Tagus River it was used as a prison, as a lighthouse and also as a tax collection center to enter the city.

Sightseeing at Jeronimos Monastery. The Jerónimos Monastery of Santa María de Belém (in Portuguese: mosteiro dos Jerónimos de Santa Maria de Belém) is a former monastery of the Order of Saint Jerome and located in the Belén neighborhood, in Lisbon, Portugal. Designed in the Manueline style by architect Juan de Castillo, it was commissioned by King Manuel I of Portugal to commemorate Vasco da Gama's fortunate return from India. It was founded in 1501 on the enclave of the Restelo hermitage in what was Restelo beach, a hermitage founded by Enrique the Navigator, and in which Vasco de Gama and his men spent the night in prayer before leaving for India. . The first construction stage of the new church began in 1514 and was expanded and modified until the 20th century. It was financed by 5% of the taxes obtained from oriental spices, with the exception of pepper, cinnamon and cloves, whose income went directly to the Crown.

The Monument to the Discoveries (Portuguese: Monumento aos Descobrimentos), popularly known as Padrão dos Descobrimentos (see padrão), is a monument built in 1960, on the bank of the Tagus River, in Belém, Lisbon, to commemorate the 500 years of the death of Henry the Navigator. It was commissioned by the regime of António de Oliveira Salazar, is 52 meters high and celebrates sailors, royal patrons and all those who participated in the development of the Age of Discoveries. The authors of the work were the architect José Ângelo Cottinelli Telmo and the sculptor Leopoldo de Almeida, who was in charge of the sculptures.

Meeting & Pickup
The pick-up point is located on level -1 (underground) of the “Parque Mercado da Ribeira” parking garage, in the vicinity of Time Out Market. The entrance to the parking is located opposite number 30 Praça Dom Luís I (Blade restaurant), across the street. Upon arrival, go down the stairs or take the elevator to level -1 and follow the Eco Tuk Tuk signs; there you will find your guide waiting for you inside the parking area next to the tuk tuks. It is important to note that we do not have a physical location at this address; it is only a pick-up point. Please wait outside the pickup point 5 minutes before your scheduled pickup time.

Our guide was great! So personable and full of lots of fascinating history with a lot of perspective added in. When we got a little behind schedule, he said, “Don’t worry! He would add time at the end so we wouldn’t miss anything.” He made a great suggestion for lunch and dropped us off there rather than back at our hotel. One of the best meals we had in Lisbon.
