Pachacamac Pre-Inca Temple & Religious Compound
What your day looks like
Learn about the lives of ancient Peruvians, while you marvel at an impressive display of temples at this one-of-a-kind archaeological site. In the morning, we will set off for the Pachacamac Sanctuary, located just 30 kilometers south of Lima. Overlooking the ocean and the Lurin River Valley, this adobe-made complex was the center of pilgrimage for many of Peru's historical inhabitants. When the Incas rose to power, the complex was adapted to be an administrative center, preserving the local construction. You'll see the Temple of the Sun, the Acllahuasi, the Taurichumbi Palace, and the Pilgrims Plaza, as well as other sites. We will also visit the onsite museum to gain a better understanding and see the remains found in the area.
