The Papua New Guinea Firedance Festival 10-day Adventure
What your day looks like
Based in the East New Britain province, the Baining Fire Dance Festival is a mesmerizing cultural spectacle that awakens all the senses. Over the course of two days, this immersive event showcases the rich tapestry of unique cultures and subcultures that define the incredible diversity of the region. Unlike typical festivals in Papua New Guinea that take place in urban showgrounds, this journey takes you directly into local villages. This setting provides an unmatched, authentic experience, allowing you to connect deeply with the communities and witness traditions in their truest form. The festival features over 50 breathtaking masked performances, each one as exclusive and captivating as the next. To elevate your experience beyond just a visual spectacle, the tour incorporates the expert cultural insights of Dr. Jacob Simet. By translating the distinct narratives of each cultural group, Dr. Simet provides the context needed to truly see, hear, feel, and understand the profound history and meaning behind every single dance. Minimum quantity of passengers to run tour is 6 and the maximum is 20.
