While many think of bears when they hear the word polar, or the movie Frozen when hearing the name Norway, many Norwegians think of the Fram and the polar expeditions of brave Norwegian explorers. On this adventure, our Oslo and Fram Museum Private Driving Tour, we will explore the capital of Norway and its polar heritage at the Fram Museum. Driving through the picturesque city center of Oslo in our private vehicle, we will pass many of the city’s main attractions. We will discover the Oslo Opera House, the Royal Palace, the Oslo Cathedral, and the waterfront area of Pipervika, where we will find the Nobel Peace Center, Oslo City Hall, and Akershus Fortress. Our drive then takes us to the green peninsula of Bygdøy, home to many of Oslo’s museums, including the Fram Museum. At the Fram Museum, we will hear stories of three Norwegian polar explorers, Fritjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup, and Roald Amundsen, and their expeditions to the North and South Poles. Enter the ships they sailed and discover the bravery and commitment they showed in the extreme cold of the Arctic and Antarctic. Our adventure ends back in the city center, where we began.
