Your local guide shares stories that bring the city’s history and everyday life into context as you explore one of Norway’s most iconic urban areas. After the city walk, the journey continues by bus toward the coast and the ferry crossing to Osterøy, Northern Europe’s largest inland island. The short ferry ride marks a clear shift in atmosphere, introducing an island known for its distinctive, unspoiled beauty — a rare combination of calm landscapes, traditional settlements, and fjord scenery, with rounded mountains and steep slopes close to the water, all remarkably close to Bergen. On Osterøy, we visit Hosanger, a traditional village setting known for its rural character and calm surroundings. Here, a simple but carefully prepared lunch is served at the family-run seaside venue, allowing time to relax and enjoy the slower rhythm of island life. This part of the tour offers insight into everyday life in the fjord region, far from the busy city center. The return journey takes us across the Osterøy Bridge, a striking suspension bridge linking the island to the mainland. We make a photo stop here to enjoy wide views over the Osterfjord and the surrounding landscape before continuing back toward Bergen.
