You'll meet your local guide on the pavement outside Belfast City Hall, the main landmark in the city. After introductions, you will be given an audio headset and earphone so you don't miss a word. You will walk in a small group and there is plenty of time for questions. Your first stop is Belfast City Hall, one of the finest in the world and a statement of power and identity. From City Hall, you will walk to the Peace Walls. Along the way, you’ll learn the historical and political background to the ‘Troubles’ and the day to day realities of life, told in human terms. You’ll stop at the International Wall to view the political art and murals before returning to Belfast City Centre. As you return, you’ll learn about another side to Belfast. Bridges that have built a modern, vibrant place full of creativity and hope. You'll see St Anne's Cathedral, walk in the vibrant Cathedral Quarter and meandering through our famous Entries. They like much else in the city have secrets hidden in plain sight. In Belfast, it's often what you don't see or what's hidden below the surface that's most illuminating. You'll visit the sites of Belfast’s radical, humane past on the oldest street in the city. You'll discover how Belfast stood apart from others in regards to the slave trade. Your tour concludes with a visit to the First Presbyterian Church a hidden gem, a building that sits at the centre of Irish history, architecturally and socially significant, it shines a light on a forgotten past and illuminates a way towards a better future.
