Discover the captivating contrasts between Auckland’s East and West Coast beaches on this unique tour. Experience the iconic Muriwai Beach, one of New Zealand's renowned black sand beaches, famous for its surfing spots and as the nesting ground for the striking “Gannets” seabirds. With numerous lookout points around the area, you’ll enjoy close-up views of the gannet colonies at Muriwai Gannet Colony and Motutara Island. (The gannets migrate to New Zealand from August to March each year.) Take some time to relax on the beach, enjoy lunch, or take a refreshing swim if you wish. Next, we’ll explore the scenic Tamaki Drive, which follows Auckland's eastern coastline up to Bastion Point, also known as the Michael Savage Memorial. Along the way, we’ll take in highlights of Auckland City, including the beautiful Achilles Point. Before returning to your accommodation, we’ll stop by the historic Victorian-style Domain Winter Gardens, a stunning collection of gardens nestled within Auckland Domain.
