What your day looks like
After you arrive, your guide will lead you on an introductory tour of the town. You'll have the chance to visit a Wooden Shoemaker's Shop, where they'll offer a live demonstration of crafting wooden shoes. Following that, you'll experience a demonstration at an authentic Dutch Cheese Farm. You can taste as much cheese as you want at the shop! Once you're ready to explore Zaanse Schans independently, your guide will share more insights about the village's uniqueness, local history, and culture. They'll also provide insider recommendations for activities and destinations. With this information, you're all set to embark on your self-guided exploration before returning to Amsterdam.

This was essentially a bus with guide to Zaanse Schans Village, which was a cute little spot and great for a half-day excursion. The guide and the tour manager at the meeting location were great. I had a group of 20 on this tour, and asked about hotel pick-up / meeting at the cruise port. They advised that couldn't be done, so our group walked from the Movenpick hotel, to the meeting point, and then we ended up meeting the bus almost back at the hotel. This was a point of frustration for me and for my group as I'd requested to meet closer to the hotel, which could have been easily done without doing a pick-up or changing the tour for anyone else.

Although this is a very charming village it is overrun with tourists. The guide didn't seem concerned how crowded the village was and several times the group got separated. All in all though, I would suggest this tour if you think as the Netherlands with windmills, because these days you wont see any other than at Zaanse Schans!

It was a very nice tour for our family of 5. The demonstrations were very informative and cool to see how they lived/worked many years ago. The cheese was tasty and plentiful. Our children enjoyed the DIY hot chocolate. Would recommend
