Your tour to Giethoorn departs from the building of 'This is Holland', Overhoeksplein in Amsterdam. Take the free ferry from platform F3 behind Central Station ("Buiksloterweg”). It is only a 3-minute ferry ride. When you get off the ferry, turn left. After 250 metres, you will see the building of 'This is Holland' on your right.

What a terrific way to spend the day! The tour bus ride was exceptionally informative and provided the background to truly appreciate the village and it canal structure&origins. The canal boat ride further deepened my knowledge and understanding while allowing a look into the serenity of the village. Lunch on our own was perfect! Lots of choices of small cafes/eateries. Then, plenty of time to explore on my own walking around the village and seeing from the shore vs from the canals. Definitely a 5-star tour for me!!
