The Experience

What your day looks like

The difference between Amsterdam during daytime and Amsterdam during nighttime is literally a difference between night and day. In the evening as soon as the sun sets all light will go on, on the bridges and buildings. Amsterdam will transform into one of the most romantic cities in the world. Maybe even more romantic than Paris?? In our open boats, you will have the best view of the city possible. And with our quit electric engines, you can indulge all the sites, sounds and smells of the city. Add one of our lovely drinks with that (sold separately). And you have a perfect night on the canals.

Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

You're absolutely right, the boat sails along the Reguliersgracht, but doesn't turn through it. Thank you for that important correction. The route is now perfect, and the description has been adjusted to clarify this. From the Rijksmuseum to the Prinsengracht You'll sail directly from the pier at the Rijksmuseum onto the charming Spiegelgracht, known for its antique shops and art galleries. You'll quickly turn onto the famous Prinsengracht. On this romantic canal, you'll see the many characteristic houseboats that make Amsterdam so unique and the impressive Catholic church De Duif, a beautiful example of 19th-century architecture. The Amstel River and the Old City Center After leaving the Prinsengracht, you'll sail onto the Amstel River. You'll pass the charming, wooden Lock Keeper's House and, a bit further on, the majestic Royal Theater Carré. You'll sail under two of the city's most famous bridges: the elegant Blauwbrug and the world-famous Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). Along the banks, you'll also see the Dancing Houses, a series of buildings that cheerfully lean to one side due to the soft Amsterdam soil. From the Rokin, which is the continuation of the Amstel, you'll have a beautiful view of Dam Square with the Royal Palace of Amsterdam and the former Civic Orphanage. You'll continue through Amsterdam's oldest canal, the Oudezijds Voorburgwal, where you'll see the Oude Kerk (Old Church), the city's oldest building. Finally, you'll arrive at the Montelbaanstoren on the Oude Schans. The Golden Bend and the Return Trip From the Oude Schans, the boat heads back towards the Rijksmuseum. On the return trip, you'll now sail on the Herengracht and through the famous Golden Bend. This is the most prestigious part of the canal ring, where the wealthiest merchants of the Golden Age lived. You'll be surrounded by stately canal houses, including the beautiful Museum of the Canals, which tells the story of the canal ring's construction. You'll sail past the Reguliersgracht, where you can catch a glimpse of the famous Seven Bridges view. This is one of the most photographed views in the city and an absolute must-see. The tour ends by sailing through the Leidsegracht to the Singelgracht, where you'll pass iconic buildings like the monumental American Hotel, the lively Leidseplein, the Holland Casino (which was once a penitentiary), and the famous music venue Paradiso.

We had a fun time. Our guide, Cat was very good and funny. It was kinda hard to hear at times as we were in the front of the boat and she was in the back. She had lots of great information and enjoyed her job! The snacks and drinks were a plus.
