The Experience

What your day looks like

Mera Peak, soaring to 6,476 meters (21,246 feet), is one of the highest trekking peaks in Nepal, nestled in the breathtaking Khumbu region. It is renowned for its stunning panoramic views, offering climbers an unparalleled sight of towering giants like Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. The climb is classified as moderately challenging, making it accessible for trekkers with basic mountaineering skills and previous high-altitude experience. While the route is primarily non-technical, climbers will encounter steep sections and glacial terrain that necessitate the use of crampons and ice axes, particularly during the summit push. The base camp is usually established at around 5,300 meters (17,388 feet), providing an ideal location for acclimatization before the summit attempt. The cost generally ranges from $1,800 to $3,300 per person, varying based on the trekking agency and the services included, such as permits, meals, accommodations, and guide support. Essential gear, including warm clothing and specialized climbing equipment, is crucial for ensuring comfort and safety at high altitudes. Prior acclimatization and proper physical fitness are key to minimizing the risk of altitude sickness. Choosing a reputable trekking agency with experienced guides is vital for a successful expedition. Overall, climbing Mera Peak promises an unforgettable experience, combining moderate technical challenges with breathtaking views and the opportunity to immerse oneself in the rich culture of the Khumbu region. It’s a perfect adventure for those looking to expand their climbing skills while experiencing the majestic beauty of the Himalayas. Please note that the main price is for only the guide. Please choose your preferred add-on Half Board Plan: Includes guide and permits, Kathmandu-Ramechap-Kathmandu on sharing bus, Ramechap-Lukla-Ramechap by flight Full Board Plan: Includes guide and permits, Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu on helicopter, Accommodation on twin sharing with AP basis, All meals (B/L/D)
