What your day looks like
A scheduled accommodated safari lasting 3 days, the Etosha Express offers an unforgettable introduction to game viewing in Namibia's world-famous Etosha National Park. Etosha is vast — just over 22,000 square km — and is home to 114 species of mammal, 350 species of bird, 110 species of reptile, and uncountable numbers of insects. There are excellent chances of spotting lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, zebra, and the critically endangered black rhino at the park's numerous natural and man-made waterholes. All accommodation is in comfortable en-suite lodge rooms — one night inside the park at either Okaukuejo or Halali Lodge, and one night outside the Park just outside the Anderson Gate. The game show in Etosha doesn't stop at sunset: all the camps have floodlit waterholes where elephant and black rhino are regular visitors after dark. On Day 3, the return route takes a spectacular scenic detour through the dramatic landscapes of Damaraland, past the towering Brandberg mountain (Namibia's highest at 2,573 m), and along the Skeleton Coast — where you stop to photograph the beached shipwreck of the Zeila — before arriving in Swakopmund.

Your day, step by step
Day 1
Windhoek
You will be collected from your guesthouse/hotels between 07:00 - 07:30 and brought to Chameleon Headquarters for the pre-departure talk and to meet the rest of the group.

After the departure from Windhoek, we stop briefly at Otjiwarongo and enjoy a light lunch pack before entering Etosha National Park through the Anderson Gate.

Wildlife Safari at Etosha National Park. We enjoy an afternoon game drive through the park visiting waterholes looking for predators as well as zebra, giraffe, elephant, rhino and many different species of antelope.

We highly recommend spending time at the floodlit waterhole while dinner is prepared by your guide over an open fire and an early night is recommended.

We arrive at our lodge just before sunset and settle into our rooms, with en-suite bathroom and tea/coffee facilities.
Day 2

Wildlife Safari at Etosha National Park. We start our first game drive at sunrise to catch the predators while they are still active, visiting many waterholes.

Wildlife Safari at Etosha National Park. Our second game drive mid-morning takes us to the impressive Etosha Pan “great white place” where you can get out of the vehicle and experience this 4500 sq km “saline desert” before continuing your game drive to look for the Big 4. After lunch you will have a chance to relax before our final game drive across the park towards Okaukuejo calling into some well-known waterholes and leave the park prior to sunset.

Local Flavor. Your route today takes you into the dramatic and beautiful scenery of Damaraland. You have the chance to meet the wonderful Herero ladies who sell their handmade arts and crafts to support their rural families. You can interact with some of the colourful local characters who live in this harsh environment. On the drive down the Skeleton Coast we explore the remains of a small shipwreck before arriving in Swakopmund mid-afternoon.
