Tangier Tasting Food Tour
What your day looks like
This experience offers you the opportunity to explore the culinary traditions of the locals while discovering the best sights of Tangier's old town. You’ll learn about the rich history of the city and uncover its hidden gems, all from the perspective of a native foodie guide who was born and raised in the Medina of Tangier, and still lives there today.
The experience, in brief
- Visit the Casbah for panoramic views of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Rock of Gibraltar.
- Explore the narrow streets and colorful souks of the Medina.
- Enjoy 56 stops for tastings of traditional Moroccan dishes.
The journey, in full
The Casbah is an ancient fortification and the highest point of the Medina. In the 17th century, it was considered a fortress. From here, you'll enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the Strait of Gibraltar, the coast of Spain, and the Rock of Gibraltar, where you can see the meeting of two continents. Next, we'll take a walking tour through the Medina's narrow streets, vibrant souks, and food markets, where you'll taste traditional Moroccan dishes. We'll make 5 or 6 tasting stops throughout the souks and Medina, followed by an authentic Moroccan meal in a traditional restaurant, where you'll feel at home in Morocco. We'll also have two cultural visits: one where you'll learn about Moroccan craftsmanship and the techniques used to create colors and materials, and another to explore a Berber pharmacy.

What travelers are saying
We had a great time with Bilal! He was knowledgeable about the history of Tangier and gave a great mix of history and context about in between food tastings without being too stuffy. Our group had a blast on our port day stop.
Bilal was an amazing guide and took us all over the medina stopping at several tasting spots along the way. He gave us an interesting overview of the city as we walked and we ended with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant.
What a wonderful experience! We learned so much and ate our favorite bite of food of the entire trip! Hamza was the best!
