Day 1
Tangier
Local Flavor. Welcome to the Morocco Tour From Tangier: You will be greeted upon your arrival at Tangier port. Then, start exploring Tangier. It is a day to discover the culture of the city of northern Morocco. The visit allows you to see Cape Spartel, the impressive Palace of the Sultan, the Necropolis, the caves of Hercules, the Kasbah, the medina, and the souk. Once you arrive at the souk, you will have free time to walk through the streets. After visiting the souk in half a day, you will have time to have lunch in a typical Moroccan restaurant to taste the best Moroccan dishes.

Chefchaouen
Local Flavor. After lunch: You will continue the tour to Chefchaouen. Chefchaouen, or Chaouen as it is often called by Moroccans, is a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to Tangier and the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. The name refers to the shape of the mountain tops above the town, which look like the two horns (chaoua) of a goat. “Chefchaouen” derives from the Berber word for horns, Ichawen. Approximately two hundred hotels are catering to the summer influx of European tourists. One distinction possessed by Chefchaouen is its blue-washed houses and buildings. Chefchaouen is a popular shopping destination as well, offering many native handicrafts not available elsewhere in Morocco, such as wool garments and woven blankets. The goat cheese native to the area is also popular with tourists. The growing tourist industry is geared especially toward Spanish tourists, who are particularly numerous during Catholic feasts like Semana Santa and Christmas. Chefchaouen was visited by Joe Orton and Kenneth Halliwell in 1967. They adored it, finding it “very ‘Golden Bough-ish’”. Orton mentions their trip in the Orton Diaries. There are a number of distinct mosques in the town. Aside from the mosque at Place Uta Hammam in the medina, there is also a mosque dedicated to the patron saint of Northern Morocco’s Jebalah region, Moulay Abdeslam Ben Mchich Alami. His tomb and the village surrounding it is about an hour’s drive from Chefchaouen on the old road to Larache. There is also a ruined mosque built by the Spanish, with stairs still in the tower.

City/Town Tour. After breakfast: Your visit to the blue city starts with our local guide. This is one of the loveliest in Morocco. Small and uncrowded, it’s easy to explore, with enough winding paths to keep you diverted.

Local Flavor. First, the Kasbah—a heavily restored walled fortress that now contains a lovely garden, a small ethnographic museum, and an even smaller art gallery. Remember that every part or wall of the city is an attraction.

Day 3
Volubilis City
Archaeological Exploration. Volubilis: An ancient Berber and Romanized city, capital of the kingdom of Mauretania, located in the plain of Saiss on the banks of the Wadi Rhoumane, near the holy city of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, where Idriss I, founder of the Idrissid dynasty, rests.

Meknes
Local Flavor. Meknes: Famous for its imperial past, with remains such as Bab Mansour—a huge door with voice and mosaic tile. Visit the mausoleum of Sultan Moulay Ismaïl, who made the city in the 17th century, and explore the vast Heri es-Souani complex, which once housed stables and food warehouses.

Day 4
Meknes
Local Flavor. The journey begins with a tour of the walls with monumental gates dating from the 17th century: Berdaïne Bab and Bab Khemis. Continue exploring the city by visiting the stables (Rua), attics (HERI), and stud. Stop at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail—the only mosque that non-Muslims could visit in Morocco for a long time. Exit through the famous Bab Mansour El on the vast square Hedim. On the other side of the square, the Museum of Moroccan Art “Dar Jamai” offers a wide variety of handicrafts. El Hedim Square (“the square of demolition”) was built between 1672–1674 after Sultan Moulay Ismail demolished half of the old city of Meknes for his palace and the square.

Rabat
End of the day! In the afternoon, travel to the capital of Morocco, Rabat.
Day 5
Casablanca
City/Town Tour. After breakfast in your hotel, meet your driver and depart for Casablanca via the highway. Upon arrival, you will start the visit. This full-day city tour of Casablanca will take you to the main touristic features of both the modern town and the medina. The visit includes the Royal Palace, the Central Market, the District of Habous, the Aïn Diab Corniche, the Nation’s Square, and the magnificent Hassan II Mosque—the largest mosque in the country and the 7th largest in the world, with the world’s tallest minaret at 210 meters. Optional lunch at Rick’s Café, a bar, lounge, and restaurant run by a former American diplomat, inspired by the Hollywood classic Casablanca.

End of the day! End of the visit and transfer back to your hotel in Rabat.
Day 6
Rabat
Leisure. Today in Rabat, you will have free time to explore the capital of Morocco on your own until around 11 AM.

Then, meet your driver and travel to Fes, the old city of Morocco. After about two and a half hours, you will arrive in Fes, check in to your hotel, and enjoy free time in the afternoon.

Day 7
Fez
City/Town Tour. After breakfast in your riad, you will start exploring the country’s spiritual capital and oldest city, Fes, by browsing its lively souks, tangled photogenic alleyways, and historic monuments. First, visit the Royal Palace gate, which forms a welcoming, peaceful divide between new Fes and old Fes. Then the Jewish quarter and the first Mellah ever built in Morocco. Afterwards, visit all the sites of cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University—the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, and the Attarine Museum. After lunch, explore the best area to stay in Fes, Fes el Bali. This is the most exotic area in the city and a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its alleyways and historic monuments such as Medersa Bou Inania and Bab Boujloud (the medina’s main gate). For shoppers, Fes el Bali is a paradise of local crafts—colorful Moroccan slippers, leatherwork, metalwork, rainbow-glass lamps, and tiles displayed at stalls throughout the district.

End of the day! In the afternoon, visit the new city for a drink. Overnight in a well-picked hotel/riad.
Day 8
Fez
Setting out from Fes, you will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains towards Ifrane. Enjoy the spectacle of Berber villages and cedar forests along the way. Pass through Ifrane, nicknamed ‘little Switzerland’ for its beauty, and Azrou.

End of the day! The town of Midelt is where you will stay the night in a hotel.
Day 9
Midelt
Sightseeing. Start your trip from Midelt and cross the valley of Ziz to see the wonderful natural view of palm trees. Upon reaching Erfoud, you will stop by shops selling fossils, then drive towards the desert town of Merzouga.

Camel Ride. Arrive in the afternoon to go trekking on camels over the sand dunes. Watch the sunset before coming to a desert camp in the heart of the desert.

End of the day! Enjoy the spectacle, quietness, the sight of the campfire, and the sound of Berber music played by some local musicians. Overnight in Berber Camp.
Day 10
Merzouga
Camel Ride. Your camel man will wake you early to watch what may be the best sunrise. Climbing the sand dunes to experience sunrise at Merzouga is a unique experience embedded in visitors’ memories. Then you’ll camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga, admiring the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes as their colors change during the day.

Ouarzazate
Sightseeing at Dadès Gorges. After breakfast at the riad, leave for Dades Valley (Road of a Thousand Kasbahs) through Rissani, Erfoud (a historic region and an archaeologist’s delight packed with fossils), and Tinghir, showing traditional rural life of this region with beautifully constructed houses dotting the largest oasis. Reach Todra Gorges—the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. Afterwards, drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see majestic sand castles, amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes,” and many Berber villages.

End of the day! After checking into your riad, watch the sunset on Tssidrine road. Overnight in our hotel/riad.
Day 11
Ouarzazate
Local Flavor. After breakfast, drive through the Dades Valley, a fascinating part of the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Stop at Kalaa-Mgouna, “the rose city,” famous for its annual rose festival, to purchase rosewater and many local cosmetic products.

Hiking. Continue to Skoura and the Bird’s Valley, where the main features are the mud brick Kasbahs, especially Kasbah Ameridil, a well-preserved kasbah. After some hiking in the valley, have lunch in a restaurant overlooking the whole valley.

Ouarzazate
Local Flavor. The tour continues to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa,” whose geography and beautiful landscapes have attracted many world-class movie producers. You may choose to visit the studios containing props used in movies such as The Mummy and Gladiator. You’ll get the chance to see Kasbah Taourirt, a Hollywood backdrop (Sheltering Sky, Gladiator, and Prince of Persia).

Day 12
Marrakesh
Local Flavor at Aït Benhaddou. After breakfast, you will have 2 hours with your local guide to explore what Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah means. Then go past Taznakht and Taliouine, driving to Taroudant.

Eco Tour. On the way, seize the opportunity to visit saffron fields where you will meet local farmers working in their fields. Arrive in Taroudant by the afternoon. Tour the medina, which is surrounded by walls, and wander along its streets.

Day 13
Agadir
Sightseeing. Drive to one of Morocco’s most visited cities, Agadir. Have lunch there, then take the quiet coastal road leading to Essaouira. Delight in the beautiful scenery and argan trees being climbed by goats.

Local Flavor. Begin the day by visiting the seaport and the Medina, also called ‘Skala,’ where you will see old structures and cannons, the museum of Sidi Mohammed Ben Abd Llah, and walk through the market to behold a myriad of products, including handmade items and local crafts.

End of the day! Enjoy seafood for lunch. Head eastwards to Marrakech.
Day 15

City/Town Tour. After breakfast in your hotel/riad, start exploring Marrakech, “the red city of Morocco.” Visit important sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, and the main square, Jemaa el-Fna. After lunch at a restaurant near the square, walk through the souks and view hundreds of handicrafts. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore other parts of the city on your own. Marrakech is nicknamed the “Red City” for its old red sandstone city walls and buildings. It has Berber rather than Arab roots and was an important trading capital for tribes of the Atlas Mountains. Orient yourself around Jemaa el-Fna Square: the souks lie to the north, the Koutoubia Mosque and gardens to the west, and the kasbah area with the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and El Badi Palace to the south. In the new city, you will find the Majorelle Gardens. Indulge your senses exploring the complicated labyrinth of souks, tucked behind ordinary restaurants and shops. Check out Souk el Attarin, Souk Chouari, and Souk Smata for spices, woodwork, and babouche (traditional Moroccan slippers). Visit the Tanneries or dyers’ souk to see traditional cloth and yarn dyeing methods. Next, admire the fine example of Moroccan Islamic architecture of the Ben Youssef Madrasa, a 16th-century Koranic school, with carved cedar ceilings, sculpted plaster, and zellij tiling.

Leisure. Free day to relax in Marrakech and explore extra sightseeing on your own. There are many activities to enjoy, such as hammam, massage, and spa treatments. You can also explore the suburbs of Marrakech. There are many nearby amazing places to visit, such as valleys, waterfalls, and landscapes. You also have the opportunity to make a day trip to the Ouzoud Waterfalls.

Hiking. After breakfast in your riad, drive to the village of Asni and then to Imlil, located in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy scenic views through the gorges of Moulay Brahim and explore the small Berber village of Imlil, which has a strong culture preserved for centuries. You’ll have the opportunity to hike in the villages and experience authentic Berber culture and life. If you choose to have lunch at Kasbah Toubkal, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Toubkal Mountains, the highest in North Africa.
