What your day looks like

Host Bio: Manuela is originally Italian and has been part of the travel industry for many years. She moved to Morocco with her family and bought a beautiful riad (a traditional Moroccan-style home built around an open courtyard) in an old Jewish neighborhood. Aicha is the chef at the riad and hosts together with Manuela. Aicha comes from a traditional Moroccan family and learned to cook from her mother and grandmother from scratch using only fresh and local ingredients. Aicha only speaks Arabic and Manuela will help translate. If you would like a market tour, please choose the "Meal & Cooking Class & Market Tour" option when choosing Time when making your booking. Please note that markets are usually closed on Friday afternoons.

The market tour and cooking class were amazing! we were met by wonderful staff who made us feel completely at home in the Riad. We then took a short walking trip to the market and all of our senses were immediately indulged. Despite the fact that we had a language barrier with the Chef, we were still able to be fully involved in the process. She was kind and patient and the meal was amazing. One of the highlights was eating our meal with our other cooking partners on the roof of the beautiful Riad!! The view was amazing. Could not have asked for a better excursion. Highly recommend this tour!!

We had a great time at the cooking class. Loved that it was a small group and that we visited the market ahead of time to get the ingredients, which gave us an opportunity to purchase some spices and food items for ourselves as well. The host and chef both had a fun attitude and instructions were easy to follow. We enjoyed our delicious meal on the rooftop of the riad which was a nice ending to the experience. We stayed busy for the full duration of the experience, but not in a way that felt stressful at all. I would recommend this experience to other travelers for sure.

We took this class as a family of three. We had a great time together along with our chef and host. It didn't hurt that everything we cooked turned out great. This was a great class and a great way to spend time together and learn some new recipes from a great culture. I highly recommend this.

A wonderful first night in Marrakech! This ended up being a private class as I was the only person signed up. I was grateful they didn't cancel it. Mon Riad is beautiful and the staff were very kind and welcoming. It was hands on preparing dinner with a bissara soup, chicken tagine, couscous, dessert and tea. I enjoyed my dinner on the rooftop terrace with a sunset view. The only downside - the market tour was lacking. We stopped at 2 stalls (most of the market was closed at 5pm). I was hoping for a more in depth market tour but that's not what this is intended to be. I also added a transfer from my hotel when I booked. I paid extra once there for a transfer back to the hotel as well. This was fine for a first day but if you're familiar with the medina area, getting a taxi on your own would be fine and less expensive.
