The Experience

What your day looks like

Our Sea Safari eco excursion for ages 10 and up is all about diving deep into everything Mexico has to offer - on one of our speedboats, in a tiny fishing village, under the waves, over winding trails on horseback and into a waterfall! Your day includes a mix of outdoor adventure and authentic Mexican culture plus the best snorkeling around. First, an Exclusive Boat Tour through Banderas Bay Your Sea Safari will begin with a thrilling speedboat ride over the brilliant waters of Banderas Bay, where a brand new view of the fantastic lush coastline will reveal itself to you. As exciting as this ride is, it culminates in a relaxing visit to the fishing village of Quimixto. Home to just 400 people, Quimixto is nestled by the La Puerta river mouth and is accessible only by boat. The lack of cars means life unfolds at a slower pace here, and you’ll have the opportunity to shop, look around, take photos and simply unwind before you continue your day of exploration. Why not try a little authentic raicilla? But sip in moderation because the next part of your Sea Safari will begin soon! Horseback Riding in Puerto Vallarta From there, you’ll saddle up, mount one of our highly trained horses and take a gentle mile-long ride along narrow, twisting paths beside the beautiful La Puerta River up into the mountains. As you prepare for your ride, you may see pelicans and herons, and if you’re lucky you might spot iguanas, parrots, coatimundi, or an ocelot slinking by! Our bilingual guides will take you to a roaring waterfall at the trek’s end, where you can slip into a cool, clear natural pool to wash away the heat of the trail - or plunge under the waterfall itself for a truly invigorating experience. Sea Safari Snorkeling (and Kayaking, Too) The relaxation continues as you mosey back to the seashore for an amazing snorkeling session in a secluded cove full of rock reefs and teeming with colorful sea life. Your Sea Safari includes all the equipment you’ll need to explore the world under the waves. For snorkeling novices, our guides have been trained to show you everything you need to know to feel comfortable in the water. But if snorkeling isn’t how you want to enjoy Banderas Bay, we’ll have kayaks ready at Pizota for anyone who prefers to paddle. And of course, we always bring life vests because safety is one of our top priorities. And Finally, Lunch at Pizota After you’ve gotten acquainted with the amazing sea life of the Quimixto shoreline, you’ll retire to a quiet, private beach paradise in Pizota. This village is even quieter, with a mere 100 residents. You’ll have the opportunity to slowly savor a freshly-prepared lunch and an open bar right there on an untouched soft sand beach, under swaying palms, in the bright Mexican sunshine, before heading home on our boat on which you’ll enjoy another thrilling ride, sweeping vistas and refreshing sea breezes.
