Penang, The Pearl of the Orient is home to one of the country's finest cuisine. It is well known as a gourmet paradise with a liveable urban municipality with a setting of mixed culture of Chinese or various origins, Malays, Indians, Mamaks or Indian Muslim, Eurasians, and some Thais. Note: The Nine Emperor Gods Festival falls on 21-29 Oct 2025, is one of the most vibrant annual celebrations in George Town. This special edition includes a night visit to the Nine Emperor Gods Temple, followed by a food hunt through unique night markets around the temple. Roadside stalls are set up to serve local vegetarian dishes to devotees. Experience local street food transformed into vegetarian versions, specially prepared for the public during this 9-day traditional celebration. If you have luck, you may witness Gods ceremony or even festival float parade.
